The main motivation for going to Whistler was to start working fora Landscaping company here. The whole thing got set up by Tracey who's son is working for the company too and said that they need an extra pair of hands. As housing in Whistler is hard to find, or let's rather say affordable housing, I went to stay at the company owners farm in MtCurrie, close to Pemberton.

I had about a week to get back from Ontario to BC or more precisely to Whistler closure to Vancouver on the West coast of British Columbia. Instead of taking to southern route along HWY1 I wanted to travel all the way on the Yellowhead Highway which lies a little bit further north. Even though I would have had enough time to stop and explore I didn't really find anything to stop. Actually it's been hard enough to find a rest area to stop and make a break at. There were sections when I drove for...

As I knew the chances were pretty low that I'll get back to Ontario any time soon I wanted to make most out of my trip. As distances are long in Northern Ontario and roads are rare the amount of places I could reach was quite limited. It wasn't a hard decision to make Thunderbay my destination for the weekend. 6hrs drive east, at the northern shore of Lake superior, the next noticable town to reach. Nice enough, but one day was pretty much enough to see everything there was to see in the area.

I'm sorry for updating so late. I started writing this about 6 weeks ago but somehow everytime I tried to edit it everything got deleted again. In the end I've got to admit that I gave up on it for a while... I hope maybe I can catch up with what's happening sometime soon...

My journey from the Rockies forwards the east began with a quick stop as crescent falls and canyon in Nordegg. Destination for the day was Dinosaur provincial park, where I arrived close to sunset. It is quite an unexpected sight as the park is kind of sunken into the plains. The sheer endless fields just suddenly drop and a hidden maze of orange red rock appears beneath. It is ment to be one of the best places in Canada for fossils and of course, as the name said, for Dinosaurs. Especially in...

The area around, or better said east of Waterton NP is well known as 'where the mountains meet the prairies'. I definitely do understand why. Its impressive how suddenly the peaks disappear and the endless grasslands show up. I was quite glad when I woke up at the same spot where I fell asleep the evening before, even though the wind was still howling around my truck. Destination for today was the Kananaskis Country , an area just south of Banff NP. The drive there lead me through lush green...

The evening at box lake was great, Nice camp spot right by the lakeshore, surrounded by majestic, snow capped mountains and a crackling hot fire - it couldn't get any better.

I still can't believe that I really left Raven Ridge Farms. The last three month just disappeared in a heart beat. Its a good sign that I enjoyed them I recon. I have learned so many things. not able about farming, but about life in general too. Most important, there is always a way out, doesn't matter how stupid a situation seemed to be. With the virus going on so many people ask me how I am holding up and how it affects me. Its honestly hard to say as I have nothing really to compare my life...

I know, i've been fairly quiet recently which doesn't mean there is nothing happening here. On the contrary, there is allways something going on, but nothing really to write long storys about. I am still staying at Raven Ridge, enjoying my days with the lambs who are slowly growing into sheep. Last week we finally weaned our bottle lambs so they are all on their own now and will probably fogett all about us in not even a week. It's too bad, I really enjoyed hanging out with them... So the...

I've got to admit, this post is coming a bit too late but I've promised that I'd write a little post about the conversion of my truck into a camper. Well, what shall I say... After my first rather clueless try of putting a bed into the back of my car I decided I could do way better and gave it another try. After all I had lots of time (thanks Corona) and all the tools and space I needed. Making a long story short, it took me quite a lot of time and effort, but I loved the outcome. It just fits...
